The Egg and I

This article, I will freely admit, is a little bit out there. But please don’t let that stop you from reading!

The title does not reflect a book written in 1945 because well, I have never read it. That doesn’t mean I have "egg on my face" either.

The title does not reflect a restaurant in Minneapolis or any other restaurant of that name. I found so many that it would be a "hard egg to break" with just one article.

The title is merely a statement that I had a ‘moment’ with an egg this week.

A side note before I begin in earnest, please. Before writing, I usually look to see if I have written on the subject before. You’ll never guess.  This is the sixth time I have written about eggs in this venue. Does that make me an "eggbeater"?  Maybe not but something weird is going on.

I am now getting to the point, and I thank you for your patience.

About Anger. About Gratitude. And About Subscribing, too.

One quote.

“When we recognize our unsurprising fallenness and keep our eyes joyfully open for the glorious exceptions, we’re much less offendable.  Why?  Because that’s the thing about gratitude and anger.  They can’t coexist. It’s one or the other.

One drains the very life from you.  The other fills your life with wonder.

Choose Wisely.”

Fruits

Just a few errands today and I was struck by the number of choices I had.  I guess I don't think about that too much as I usually just go about my day moving from one thing to another, getting the job done, doing domestic chores, cooking dinner, getting ready for work and getting ready for bed.  Automatic-life.

During my excursion, I was also struck by the number of times when anger ruled over consideration, communication, understanding, and civility.  And then, I got angry about anger!  Yea, so I need a little help sometimes...

Not Every Day is a Good Day

"You just can't argue with that", I think to myself.  Sometimes, the planned day proceeds flawlessly. Some days, nothing goes right.  Blame everything from Murphy's Law to the weather to the color of your socks, but it probably won't help much.
  • Shrug your shoulders and sigh.
  • Boil your rage to Category 5 levels and flatten everything around you.
  • Find a secluded corner and quietly break.
Choices.  None of them good.

Ring Tones

There's a lot of anger out there.  Some anger is justifiable, some anger is not.

At the grocery store the other day, someone's phone rang.  It was
