It Only Works Once

Surprise.
Wonder.
Sometimes amazement and joy.

These are the things of children.  We seem to lose our ability to be surprised and amazed as we leave the things of children behind in favor of becoming adults. Inevitable, I suppose.

And this is certainly true in society and business. We have left behind the things of children in favor of adulthood.  But, once in a while, someone changes that if only for a minute or two.

Watch this German grocery store (Click Here) moving well beyond "sales pitch".  Many worked diligently to provide surprise, amazement and joy.  They chose to give -  to their customers and to all who watch this video. They chose to create smiles, hugs and even a little dancing.

Yes, this kind of surprise probably only works once.  Expectation eliminates surprise, awe and wonder.  But, we're each in a position to provide the "Spirit of this Season" to those around us whether "those" are family, friends, colleagues or strangers.

Yes, it only works once but it works once for each recipient. The ability to create smiles, hugs and even a little dancing is endless.

While preparing for Christmas, please give yourself permission to be amazed, surprised and full of joy as well.

An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Luke 2: 9-12
