Morning has broken

The dew-point is in the mid 60's.
Uncomfortable, but it might be dropping.
Slowly, though.

Puddles from last night's rain are in the way.
Avoiding some - possible.
The rest? Thank you Gore-Tex.

The sun is shining.
The birds are singing.
It smells fresh - clean, even.

Pandora keeps me company.
The David Haas channel today.
Cat Stevens sings

Morning Has Broken, like the first morning.
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird.
Praise for the singing, Praise for the morning.
Praise for them springing, straight from the Word.

Memories cascade.
  • A time with a choir singing this very hymn. I'm on a public trail - no singing now.
  • A day of sadness at the funeral of a good man.  The loss of a daughter's grandfather immortalized in his favorite song.

Walking is a good time for reflection.
It's a good time to be thankful
  • for the birds
  • and the sun
  • and the rain
  • and the dew
  • and the song,
  • and vocal chords that sing this song.
  • For memories, happy and sad,
  • And for the daughter that made me a dad.
  • And for her family,
  • her husband
  • her children
  • And for the love in my heart for all.
